Zoomie browser extension · Last updated 3 November 2026
The short version: Zoomie does not collect, store, sell or share any personal data. It has no servers, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.
What Zoomie does
Zoomie adds a button to instagram.com that opens the photo or video you choose in a full-window viewer with zoom, pan and playback controls. All of this happens inside your browser, on the page you are already viewing.
Data Zoomie stores
Zoomie saves only your own settings, using your browser's built-in extension storage on your device:
- whether the zoom button is shown, and which button look you chose
- how clicks should open the viewer (for example Alt + click)
- your preferred video playback speed and volume
These settings never leave your device. Removing the extension deletes them.
Data Zoomie does not collect
Zoomie does not collect or transmit your name, email address, Instagram account, browsing history, the photos or videos you view, your location, or any other personal information. There is no account to create.
Permissions
- Storage: to save the settings listed above.
- Access to www.instagram.com: to show the zoom button and the viewer on Instagram pages. Zoomie does not run on any other website.
Third parties
Zoomie does not share data with anyone, because it has no data to share. It does not use third-party services, analytics or advertising networks. Photos and videos are shown exactly as Instagram delivers them to your browser.
Children
Zoomie does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date.
